Who We Are and What We Do

In April 2022 on the eve of Earth Day, ten Healdsburg residents came together to explore multifaceted solutions to the climate emergency that threatens our planet, our nation, our state and our city. Throughout 2022, this group expanded and currently includes individuals who belong to a wide variety of local organizations including Healdsburg 2040, the “We Are Talking About It! Climate Change” Conversation Circle, Indivisible Healdsburg’s Climate Action Team, the local chapter of the American Association of University Women, AVFilm, Healdsburg Noon Rotary, the Climate Center, Healdsburg Community for Sustainable Solutions, the Climate Reality Project and Healdsburg’s two appointed representatives on the Climate Action Advisory Committee for the Regional Climate Protection Authority.

We have broadened our participation with other non profits such as Corazon Healdsburg, Alliance Medical Center, Jardin del Pueblo, and From Farm to Pantry. Las promotoras from Corazon Healdsburg are active members of our organization as is the Corazon Healdsburg Community Outreach Manager.

Starting in 2023, we developed a collaborative working relationship with staff from the City of Healdsburg and assisted with the development of the City’s Climate Mobilization Strategy.

We are an all volunteer organization and are constantly looking for new residents to join our efforts.

Our next general Climate Action Healdsburg meeting will be on November 11 at 6 pm and it’s going to be a celebration. Meetings are held at The 222 on Healdsburg Avenue.  Email HealdsburgClimate@yahoo.com for more information.

The heating planet is our commons. It holds us all. To address and reverse warming requires connection and reciprocity. It calls for moving out of our comfort zones to find a depth of courage we may have never known. It calls for action that is bold and fearless.”
